Ford Focus year 2000 trunk problems?

Basically there should be a "T" shaped , glow in the dark, emergency release tab hanging from the inside of the trunk lid. Pull it to release the trunk and push the trunk lid open,
 
hey, so my trunk got stuck and wont open on my ford focus year 2000...i manage to open the seat to get in the trunk but idk how to actually open the trunk from the inside now..so a little help please..first answer gets best asap..please and thanks..i just need to know how to open it from the inside
