Ford focus slips out of reverse gear?

When I go to reverse out of my car space on a morning outside my house its fine, works every time. then if throughout the day i need to reverse, it clicks out of position and behaves as if in neutral... Doesn't happen all the time though, just most of the time! Anybody know what could be the cause of this and also if it will pass the MOT despite this?? Thankyou

Probably need a shifter linkage adjustment. Don't sweat it. A good trans shop or dealership can help you. Ask at a Ford dealer first. If there is a re-call, they will know about it. Many times people miss out on free services because they are afraid to "get taken."
