I have a 2003 ford fiesta lx. Yesterday the car acceleration stopped and it seemed the engine was just ticking over. The mph readout had an error code ECM FAIL. I Called out the R.A.C. The guy put a laptop on it and said the only error was on the Air Conditioning. It doesn't have air conditioning.
I started the car and he followed me to see if the fault happened again. It didn't. It has however been getting hard to start in the mornings. Hunting around on the net it appears the trouble could be in the Power train Modul??? I have seen quotes of £1000 to repair the fault on other cars with the same problem. Any ideas because I am definatley not spending that sort of money to repair a £3500 car. I`ll scrap it first.
