My son has Ford Fiesta zetec which has a leaking / faulty water pump, hes booked in next week to have water pump replaced. Hes used the car a couple of times ( short urgent trips ) since the pump failed, before doing so hes been boiling water letting it go cold and then putting it in car to make sure car had coolant. Now, today he boiled the water but didnt let it go cold, he more or less put it straight in at almost boiling temp and straight away the car started making a tapping knocking noise, the noise is at enigne speed wether idleing or driving. Can anyone help with what damage hes done ?
