Ford Fiesta MK6 Zetec-S TDCi (2006)

Hi all,

Yesterday i carried out new brake discs and pads on my fiesta, i also added goodrige braided flexi hoses.

I fitted all by the book how it should be done, bled the brakes as usual a good few times with some help from a friend and a brake bleeding tool (pipe)...

I still have no braking, when engine is off the pedal is hard but can slowly be pushed all the way to the floor. When the engine is on if feels like there is no pedal at all and again can go right to the floor.

If you pump the pedal when engine is running it gets hard but then slowly looses its hardness again, i have tried braking after i have pumped but the pedal still goes right to the floor and car does not stop.

The car has disc brakes all around....

Help me :(
PHIL P - I have done that 5 times over, no leaks and everything is tight.... :(
Fellside - Yes the brakes have been bled correctly with another person topping it up if needed. Everything has joined properly all the hoses are tight, theres no apparent leaks of fluid or air.

Could the seals in the master cylinder be faffed?

Sounds like the bleeding has not been done properly, or air is getting in through the new hoses you fitted.

Look for signs of leakage on all wheels, tighten hoses where possible, and do the brake bleeding exercise again.

You say you have done the job correctly. It is fairly apparent that that isn't the case otherwise you wouldn't have any problems.

Are you sure that you kept the brake reservoir topped up while bleeding the system? This is a common mistake to make causing air to enter the system again.
