Ford Explorer Check Engine Light...Code Problem?

Hi i have a 2000 ford explorer xls and well it's got a few issues. See It had the check engine light on for like months and months then...when we cleared the caddilac converters and worked on the muffler system and bought new spark plugs the beast came to life...It had "POWER" it sounded dam good...Ran perfect for about 3 weeks and bam check engine light hit me again...It never blinked though was just a constant light...now it's diffrent all of a sudden it blinks =(...However i know i do have more bad spark plugs yet again...which im going to fix today but whats it mean when it doesnt blink and when it does blink....WHATS WRONG WITH MY BABY
Also yeh i have taken it to a Auto Shop the port where they plug their computers in is screwed up and can't be read..Im not shure y im guessing the complete jackoff that had the car before me some how or some way screwed it up...idk it's their but no computer can read it...?? =(.....
 
The BLINK means the bomb is about to explode- PULL over as fast as possible and run as far as you can get from the car before it blows. The shrapnel will cut you or the glass might blind you.
