Ford Expedition stuttering problems?

I have a 2001 Ford Expedition 4wd, 4.6 L. I noticed a few months ago it starting to stutter a bit on the interstate. It didn't happens when changing gears, but just when driving a steady speed. More recently, I have had some problems with acceleration. Whenever I back off the gas so it will downshift, the RPMs stay up for a few seconds, then it lurches down. In the last few days, it has started stuttering when accelerating from a complete stop. It takes 5 or 6 seconds to stop the stuttering and get it moving. Any ideas on what it could be or where I should take it to get looked at? I took it to get an oil change and they said my transmission fluid was over filled, so I took it to a transmission place who changed the fluid and filter and ran a diagnostic on it, but no codes popped up. Any help would be appreciated!
