Hello, we purchased a 1997 Ford Expedition new and drove it until 2004. we drove 160,000 miles and never had any major problems. as a matter of fact never one problem. We did regular maintenance using good quality products, and never did anything the cheap way out. We purchased good quality Michelin Tires and washed it every two weeks and had a great SUV that was very reliable, fun to drive, plenty of power and good gas millage especially on long trips. It was a 2wd with a 5.4 engine and a E4OD trans W/towing package. we sold it in 2004 and purchased a 2004 Ford Excursion, Even bigger. Same thing so far with our Excursion, just take care of it and it will take care of you... Enjoy
