Ford EL Falcon Cooling system Problems?

My fords warning light for the cooling sytem is on but i have checked out the cooling system but there dosent seem to be a problem.
Could anyone tell me why the light is still on??

Did you check the temperature sending unit to see if it's gone bad, or wiring to it to see if it got grounded out, and is sending a bogus signal?
