...or 24 hours. what do i check? My friend has a 2000 crown vic interceptor and uses it for a security job. I'm an old car guy and it has me stumped. Car starts fine, runs fine for 10 Min's, an hour, a day... Then dies without warning and will not start again until a day or two later. I've looked at wires and replaced anything that looks corroded, battery cables. Only thing i can say, and it may be a coincidence, is that the problem started when he was driving one day when car started whining and died on the street. you could smell electrical burning from the passenger side of the car. During the time the car could not be shut off by trying to turn off the ignition switch. Assuming that he had a bad starter it was replaced. But since then this nagging problem with dying unexpectedly remains. any thoughts?
