ford contour wont start pls help?

I have an older ford contour it has some problems with regurgitating air into the water resivoir , I replaced the thermostat because it was not working properly while doing that i ran a sealer through the system that sealed the air from leaking from the cylinder into the cooling system three weeks later the car was running well and it started getting hot so i pulled off the road and let it cool down....went to restart the car after cooling the car will turn over and has spark and has plenty of compression but will not run and has no smoke coming out of the exahust i have put minimal fuel into all of the cylinders by hand ,I can then start the car for a few seconds but it will not continue running once the fuel i put into the cylinders has been spent the fuel pump will move fuel initally with the key being turned and the fuel line disconnected .i have done all that i can to diagnose the problem myself without any success i have more knowledge than average but I am not a mechanic
