Ford bronco II good high school car?

would about an 88 ford bronco II be a good 16 year olds rig?
i know quite a bit about engines and cars and trucks, but what is your opinion?

when I pick one up for about 800 bucks, i will swap a 5 speed in it if it isn't already, and change the heads.

it will be driven 5 miles to school, then 10 miles to work and about 12 miles home everyday.
plus a little wheeling on the weekends and trips to the mountain
 
I cant think of a worse choice for a young person. These things were deadly, more people got killed in rollovers in Bronco 2's than any vehicle that comes to mind. Short wheelbase, high center of gravity, no ABS or safety features whatsoever. Most vehicles are somewhat forgiving if you make a mistake, this thing could make your first mistake be your last. RUN from a Bronco 2.
 
Neither reliable nor safe for a 16 year old. You can do better. I'd like to be answering each other's questions a few years from now, so please get something more sedate and safe for a first car.
