My 1994 Ford Ranger, auto has been having some trouble. The only gear that works is overdrive. All other gears engage but in order to make the tires move you have to step on the as quite a bit. Once you put it in overdrive it takes off fine. Lately when we have been trying to engage passing gear the truck hasnt been able to. We have checked to kickdown caable thinking that was it. Then after replacing the transmition filter and oil we tested both the 3-4 and main shift sollonoid. They both read around 17 Ohms. As now we are stuck and dont know what to do. Do you have any ideas? What could be causing these problems?
