Ford ac compressor stays on?

The power wire going to my compressor clutch is sending a signal for my clutch to engage. Even when I turn my ac off, the compressor clutch is engaged. When I disconnect the wire, the clutch stops so I know its not the compressor clutch. What signals the compressor clutch to engage? Is it the ac controls inside the truck? Maybe something is stuck or a cable may be loose?

You have a high pressure switch that activates the clutch in the system. When your freon is low the switch shuts down the compressor because the freon acts as a lubricant for the compressor. If your AC is working and you have good cool air I would think you have a bad high presser switch. Given the age of your vehicle and if the air conditioning system has not been serviced I would empty and then recharge the system using a can of conditioner/ lubricant to start then fill with freon. You can do this easily yourself, cost about $55.

It's probably a stuck relay. Swap it with another relay say a headlight or foglight etc.. see if it makes a difference.
if not the relay then something is touching the compressor's cable terminals under the fuse box.
