ford 600 tractor lost spark?

i have a ford 600 tractor and lost spark dont have any thing to the points can i check the coil? how do they do it at auto parts store? ill add that in the past 50+ years wiring has been cut and taped and stuff added and so on so nothing is easy to follow. not much left thats factory
 
I'm not sure about the 600, I have an old Jubilee and had ignition trouble myself. I ended up just replacing the coil as a trouble shooting step (I think it only cost like $15 or so). Changing it out was very easy and it ended up running great after that.
It was difficult to trouble shoot because the timing light would show spark, yet it didn't spark every time it should, like the coil was weak or something. The NAPA store I went into had the coil I needed in stock as well. Good luck.
