for those who went to summer camp!?

I went to camp every summer for a week from the ages 10-17. They were the best weeks of my life. This weekend I'm sending my son to camp and he's reall excited and i'm REAL NERVOUS! I'll miss him so much but I know he's going to have the greatest time....

so in honor of SUMMER CAMP...what is your favorite camp memory, whether it's a fun one, a sad one, a sexy one or a horror one ...share!!
 
I remember going to a summer camp when I was 12 or so and all of a sudden all of the kids were told to go to their cabins because there were bears outside.

I really had to pee so I asked if I could go to the restrooms.

I got excited because I saw a bear. :)
 
I went to so many summer camps. And I loved every minute.
Once I had to go repelling and it wasnt very far down but I was so scared and a kinda fell upside down and was hanging there crying and cussing upside down. Everyone was laughing at me. It was kinda funny, especially since my friend did the same thing right after me. I was around 16.
 
This wasn't a summer camp, but a three day camp through my grade school. We were living in Hawaii at the time, and this camp was at the far end of the North Shore, right on the beach. We all had to take turns with meals. Serving and cleaning up. On night when I wasn't on duty, I walked down to a stone wall overlooking the beach and just sat there in the dark listening to the waves crashing on the beach. One of the counselors saw me walk out and thought I was sneaking off to go for a swim, or was depressed. I was always a strange kid, getting my kicks just watching the surf and listening to waves. Kind of a Zen/serenity thing. When he realized there was no real problem he just sat there with me for a while...in total silence. That was the first time an adult treated me with the respect they would show to another adult. It felt really good.
