I love gardening but because it's not the cheapest hobby in the world I tend to stick to fruit and vegetables which 1. will be consumed by my hubby and me 2. are easy to grow but pricey in the stores (Basil for example) and 3. are easy to grow.

What I would like to know from all of you is what do you grow in your garden and what made you decide to grow it?

But instead of listing all your fruit and vegetables you grow focus on the ones you are most proud of.

For example I'm very proud of my citrus trees because they are doing very well and they are my babies. I also am proud of my Thia mini garden which consists of Basil, Lemon Grass, Cilantro and Jalapenos .

Come on out you gardeners and brag!
ugh! Thia should have been Thai :)

I grow a lot of almost anything. My favorite thing to grow is definitely bamboo because of the rate of its growth and appearance. I will have 15 species total by next month.

I also like other perrenials such as peonies, zebra grass, tree peonies, poppies, other flowers.

For trees, I grow cherries, pear, apple, empress tree.

I like to do indoor gardening too so I grow epiphyllums, diffenbachia, begonia, snake plants, pothos.

I've grown almost every vegetable you can think of from carrots, radishes, to potatoes, corn, tobacco, anything useful.

I can grow a lot of stuff because I have unlimited access to fertilizer and live in a climate with enough rain so I hardly have to water my plants.

I should say i live in northern Canada so gardening is a challenge some summers, but ive managed to grow just about anything i want. I always do carrots as we freeze, pickle, etc for the winter, the same as green and yellow beans.I do potatoes, tomatoes, peas, lettuce, kohl rabbi, beets, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and some fruits...raspberries and strawberries for jam, i have tried watermelon with some success, they are often small due to short growing season, the same with honeydews and cantaloupes..green peppers in the greenhouse due to the temps here can be done also.Everything we grow we eat fresh and store the remainder for winter use, much cheaper than buying them and taste so much better.

We just do the standard stuff - Roma and cherry Tomatoes, Chili peppers, habaneros. Some good chili fixings!

14 acres of marijuana. My property is only 1/2 acre, so I stack them 28 layers high!
