for the photographers out there?

Okay so I'm in high school and someday I would really like to get a career in photography. Is there anything I can or should do to prepare for this? suggestions would be great :]
The camera I have right now is a Canon EOS Rebel DSLR. I have an 18-55mm lense and a 75-300mm lense.
