For tax purposes, can you write off your work license as a business expense?

I pay $60 per year to renew my license in order to practice ultrasound in a hospital.
Can that be written off as a business expense on my taxes?

Maybe. If you're an employee, you only can if you itemize, and even then can only deduct the portion of unreimbursed employee expenses plus other misc expenses over 2% of your AGI.

If you're an independent contractor, you can deduct it as a business expense on your schedule C.
