For some reason my gadgets have dissapeared off of my desktop. help me get them back?

we didn't have wireless fir a while so my laptop was out of use, now i have it back but the gadgets are all of the sudden gone!
ive searched through all my files for them but i get nothing
ive even tried downloading new gadgets again but they wont show up any where in my files
please help, i really would like them back :(

step by step would be appreciated

Do you mean Widgets? If you can try to search programs to find your Widgets application.
I don't know what a gadget is, but if it's like a Widget, I know that Widgets can be hidden as a matter of choice. To bring them back open the gadge or widget program from programs menu and try using help.
