Well, I was born and still live in southern Virgina (though I suppose you couldn't really call it rural - I grew up in a pretty good-sized town), but I've never experienced anything supernatural.
My grandmother did tell us a few ghost stories: one about a ball of fire - which did not radiate heat - that would follow people through the woods and another about a spectral locomotive that would sometimes ride a disused/decommissioned portion of the rails near her house, for example.
Um, I saw a UFO once as a kid (and by that I mean a Unidentified Flying Object - not a alien spacecraft). It looked like a framework, roughly polyhedral in shape, that was in engulfed in flame and seemed to be tumbling out of the sky at an almost horizontal angle (I personally think that it was just a satellite of some kind that had lost orbit).
But no, I personally haven't really experienced anything that could be construed as supernatural or paranormal. Sorry.
