For or Against Gay Marriage

I've already given proof that many were Christians, so the opening paragraph is a lie.

Saying that our Founders wanted to prevent the establishment of a state religion is accurate. Saying that they weren't establishing a government based on religious morality isn't. They began each session with a prayer, for God sake, and you want to argue that their religious principles weren't the basis for the Constitution? :confused: :rolleyes:

The rights of men are "GOD GIVEN", the form of government is man-made. Our Forefathers believed that the Creator gave us our rights, not MAN, not government. The purpose of government was to ensure the safeguarding of those God given rights.

One must be careful to parse the worRAB very carefully. The US isn't "founded on the Christian religion", it is founded on Christian principles. There's a difference. Our Forefathers didn't want a state religion to be forced on the governed, but it certainly wasn't interested in a God-less government as evident by the heavy use of prayer throughout our government's history. Congress starts every session with a prayer. There are prayers and references to God throughout the government.

Wrong again. Many were church-going, practicing Christians. In fact, the Capital Building itself held Christian masses weekly for THOUSANRAB.

But above, you argued that the DoI "gave us important insight", now when it doesn't fit your premise, you want to disregard it. :rolleyes:



I've already proved to you that our FIRST President was a Christian as was the Second, John Adams. What revisionist history are you peddling?

No one is pushing a " Gay Agenda." Equal protection under the law is meant to be extended to all Americans. The mentioning of the 61st anniversary did teach us how many Americans sacrificed for all Americans.

I've been married to the same woman for 26 years, coach every sport that my kiRAB attempted, ran a 250 girl Catholic Church Softball League and umped when a paid ump was a no-show. Never reffed a soccer game, but did get conned into getting my Class E Soccer Coach License. :)
I've seen the importance of distinctive gender-based role models for boys and girls. There is no substitute IMO.
 
Since when do you have to give equal rights to someone that doesn't meet the criteria for inclusion. As I've stated before, I can't benefit from AA because I don't meet the criteria of acceptance. Is it that hard to understand the concept that dogs don't equal cats, so dogs require leashes and cats don't?

Why? Because I don't see any proof of victimization WRT gays as a group. The normal barometer for oppression is income level. Gays have a much higher average income level than straights, so I don't see the "victim".

Children don't have the same rights as adults, are our children all victims too? :rolleyes:

Then, I'm assuming that you're in favor of heterosexual polygamy?

Whether you care to admit it or not, homosexuality is a deviant behavior in the animal world. (I'm using the term "deviant" in its strict meaning, ie, not the norm) The fact that it occurs, in rarity in nature, doesn't mean that it's the normal state of existence. If the majority of animals were homosexual, we would see extinction take place daily, but it's not the natural order, so life perpetuates itself.
 
I second this. Will you please answer this question, Voice of Reason? I have never met a better dad than my son's mentor - rarely even met a man who can match him. Just what about your sex life, or anybody's for that matter, is relevant to the well-being of children?

Or do you just want to fess up to this being YOUR personal prejudice and problem and that you are just dragging kiRAB into the equation as a badly veiled attempt to make your hate look like compassion?

Although they didn't do that with inter-racial marriage, or when it came to giving women the vote. The U.S. is a Constitutional democracy the last time I checked. Rights aren't determined by majority vote.



If they don't get the benefits and services they need through marriage, through being able to support one another, they will have to use some other type of government support. Gays are not just a dependent class, but a contributing class as well. Why don't you have a problem accepting their contributions?



Last time I checked, having kiRAB that were produced in the marriage by the couple themselves, wasn't a requirement for marriage. Children are not the only care of society, anyway.
 
Tis sad, when the polls go against your thought processes, that you all would deny others "Equal protection under the law." It is especially sad, when those who saw battle, fought only for the Americans they thought were fitting of their beliefs system; not all Americans in total.

I thought marriage was a secular event, and only a religious event should a couple want to make it one. And no religion is the basis for law; wasn't the persecution of many by the church the reason this country was founded ?
 
There's no problem as long as you NEVER get stopped by the police. I'm sure that most states are like Michigan; you are given 60 days to get a new license. After that, you are ticketed.

Child portability deals with, should one parent die, then that persons parents or siblings can take the child out of the home of the surviving parent. I've seen where and how easily it happens.

If a partner is being hospitalized, that person's parents and siblings can keep the other partner from seeing them. I've seen where that happened in the trauma centre where I worked.

As for legal papers, insurances, taxes, rubberstamps will not be recognized; can you see a rubberstamp on U.S. tax papers ?

The legal papers for DNR; sorry, I am used to hospitalspeak. DNR = Donot resucitate. I've seen those legal orders over-ridden when someone came in after a car crash. They too, can be over-ridden by the parents, or siblings of the person in the accident, and we are talking legal papers. The same can be said for organ donation, the family rules, not the partner.
