For medical school, what specifically must be covered in the 8 hours of biology...

...pre-reqs? The reason I ask this is because some colleges have what they call 3 course biology sequences, such as at my school, made up of introduction to bio (5 credits), genetics (4 credits), and cell biology (3 credits), does that mean that all three are required or can I just take intro and genetics? I want to be accepted, and have already gotten an engineering bachelors, I am just switching towards the medical field and want to take the right courses.
Apparently at my university, several other schools have an introduction to biology I and II that transfer in as the 5 credit introduction to biology. The first answer below seems to make a lot of sense. The thing that has kind of annoyed me is having everybody tell me a different requirement for admission, including premedical advisors.
