You can get pregnant, but until the Ovaries release an egg it can't get fertilized, so it is a lot harder to get pregnant right after a period,a nd a lot of those pregnancies end up either never catching a hold of the Uterine wall or they catch in the fallopian tubes and cause a lot of problem if not removed very soon. They say that the stress from trying to have a baby can keep you from having one, so if you relax and try not to have a baby then you may just have one. Sometimes during sex the female gets a little too lubricated and this lube has an acid that will kill sperm and can cause the sperm to die too quickly, or sometimes when you ejaculate it is at the entrance of the vagina instead of as deep in as you can go so the sperm has a longer trip and can get lost or die before reaching the egg. Don't try to conceive every day because this can attribute to a lower sperm count and the more sperm you have the better your chances, so try waiting a few days to a week in between. they also have a bunch of different methods that are supposed to be easier to conceive, like putting your wife's hips up on pillows so that it is a downhill swim for the little fellers. You may look into ovulation cycles and temperature and all of that also.
