anyone a fan of Beyond Fear? This is Tim Owens own band, one where he finally got to call the shots. The music on it is a mix of Classic style Heavy Metal with some Thrash and Power moments. But the real point is the chance for Tim to reach out and scream like he has seldom been allowed to do before.

So many Metalheads count it blasphemy, but this is the single guy in all of Metal that can stand toe to toe with Rob Halford in his Priest heyday.. and IMO his soft singing voice is much better than Rob's. (No knock on Rob by any means)

MQ2: Can you name a modern day vocalist better?
@Wakemeup... he never wrote anything for Winterbane, though which was his major issue with JP and Iced Earth. Charred Walls of teh Damned, has left me strangely unsatisfied, which considering the guys in it is kinda hard to believe.
I like the dude you listed.. but I think it would be stretching it to say he has just as good a range as Ripper. Though his bottom end with the harsh stuff is superior, no doubt.
