For class debate: What are the reasons our country does not allow homosexuals to serve?

I'm doing a debate in class and I have to speak against gays being allowed to serve.

What are the exact reasons our country doesn't let gays serve our country in war and such? I'm NOT looking for any immature answers. I'm looking for mature answers that will help me win this debate in class.

here is the only answer that counts: heterosexual men do NOT want to be around gay men. period, end of sentence. this dynamic would seriously undermine the military's primary emphasis on unit cohesion. that's it...it is really that simple. it has nothing whatsoever to do with a gay man's ability to fight or follow orders. this is why you had clinton signing the "don't ask, don't tell" policy during his administration. but using the military to conduct social experiments is a very bad idea indeed. the leftists really are quite clueless as to the necessity of the military and forcing gays into places they are not wanted is just another attempt to undermine this vital institution.
 
Bigotry, no other reason.

No argument made against gays in the military is any different than the same arguments that were used to oppose integrating Blacks into the military. They were wrong then, and they remain just as wrong now.
 
It's all about "control". It's because some people, and this includes most men, are blessed (or doomed) with an extremely strong sexual drive, whether they are "strait" or "gay". Living and working in such close quarters makes it hard to control that drive, elevates the difference, and sometimes leads to misunderstandings or trouble. This is not to say I agree with not allowing them to serve, but I do understand the problem it can cause regarding bullying and unsolicited sex.
