twice about cooking as a career? If you have watched "Hell's Kitchen" on the Fox TV Network, you know that Chef Ramsey is particularly rough on his chef contestants, vieing for the top spot over a period of weeks of harrowing trials and eliminations. Seeing how much pressure these chefs go through...the abuse they take...the heat, the grime, the sweat, the hours of hard work, the clean-up, the many disgusting duties they have to take on...is it really worth it? I'm not talking about the winner of Hell's Kitchen, per se. I'm talking about a life as a chef having to put up with this kind of daily grind for a living and when there is not always words of appreciation and admiration spoken at the end of every meal done well.
I realize that the real world is not exactly like Hell's Kitchen...but there are many high pressure, high turnover kitchens where the conditions are not too much different than what is depicted on Hell's Kitchen.
So has watching this series turned you off from being a professional chef?
