For all you complaining about that Mike brown hit...?

From what i seen it was a clean(by NHL standards hit),that 's hockey..got to love it!....
 
It wasnt dirty! First of all, it shouldn't have even been called interference because it was less than a second after hudler shot the puck. Second, it wasnt an elbow either because his elbow was tucked into his body, he didnt stick it out at all. Hudler basically ran into it. And thirdly, Hudler had his head down, so he just didnt see it coming. And the blood on the ice? Thats from his visor cutting him when he hit the ice. Everybody on CBC agreed that it shouldnt have even been a minor penalty! It was a good clean hit! I mean cmon, we're not doing ballet here.
Playboy perry your an idiot. After watching the video yet again, I dont see how my description was off at all.
 
I agree. This is the playoffs and your supposed to finish your hits. Hudler knows that and he should know that Anaheim is going to take every chance you give them to hit you. He should have prepared for it rather than watching his pass. All that being said though, it was a head shot, so that kinda makes it a judgement call for the refs. Who knows if that was his intent, it could be argued that the head contact was caused by Hudler when he turned to watch the puck. Either way, it wasnt interference like they called.

I don't know about a clean hit, but Hudler can absolutely take partial blame for not paying attention to his surroundings. I agree with a game suspension but on the grounds that Brown could have avoided it. If you start letting things like that go the players union will have a field day.
If your playoff chances are affected by a single man being on the ice, he needs to be able to make those quick decisions. Avoiding penalties should be just as important as making plays, they need to think of the team as a whole.
 
i agree that it shouldn't have been a misconduct but i also know that the du cks play dirty and you can't deny that if you want to thumbs down me go head but im telling you if it were us that did it you would be screaming aty your tvs
 
After seeing the replay over and over I was reminded by my memory from the movie "Youngblood". After Youngblood(Rob Lowe) got knocked on his ass after shooting a shot his nemesis siad "Keep yer head up, prick!" As the Duck's coach said, "Hudler was too busy admiring his pass". Everything was clean under the NHL rules. No elbow( it was a shoulder and hip combo check), the puck had just left his stick in less than a second. Welcome to playoff hockey at its finest!
 
Of course you would say that looking at your avatar. It was a dirty hit, no two ways about it. Maybe not as bad as Brashear's, but dirty all the same. On the replay you can see him aim for Hudler's head. He had plenty of time to take some steam off of it. Hudler didn't have his head down, he was lookng the other way, the way that the puck went.

I think you're watching the video through duck colored glasses. I just watched it again and you can see Brown take aim for Hudler's head, he doesn't throw his elbow per se, but he aims his shoulder for his head.
 
I'll use your own words to shut down your argument.

Visor, last time I checked, those are on helmets, and helmets are on the head, which is illegal territory. Thank you very much.

I don't see a suspension coming, but hey, I think the 5 minute major was right enough. As for the game misconduct, that probably saved him from a suspension.
 
it was a borderline penalty but you can't really complain about one penalty in the Playoffs, those are the breaks. I think the main argument against it is, the hit was late, which it sort of seemed to be at full speed. Also, it was high (to the head), he left his feet, and left a cut under Hudler's eye. any injury like that is going to get the zebras attention. to me, the Ducks get their share of calls. but that's just me.

I've been thrown out of a game for less than that! just a hard bump :-( Mine was accidental anyway...
