Football factory, green street and mike basset England manager.

Only seen Green Street - Vary good, powerful drama. Made me cry at the end as well. Very true to life (in the football fan violence world) from what i've been told.

Not seen the other two

I really didn't like The Football Factory. Seemed to lack plot and was just abit...shit. I love Mike Basset though. I love that type of humour!

Green Street - awful rubbish. Worth seeing though for a legendarily bad English accent that would put Australian chimney sweeps the world over to shame.

Football Factory - awful rubbish. Not even worth seeing for it's badness.

Mike Bassett - worth a look if you can find it in a bargain bin. Some funny moments.

I agree completely. Awful films, probably would have worked better if they'd been made in the late 70s/early 80s.
Mike Bassett is a shocker too. Complete waste of Ricky Tomlinson's talent.

Forget Green Street, and Football Factory. Buy The Firm(1988 I believe) on dvd instead, with Gary Oldman. Can't say anything about the other one because I haven't seen it.

The firm is better than green st/FF but suffers because so many of it's actors are highly recognisable from other things, mainly soaps. And I don't really find Phil Mitchell or Steve McDonald all that threatening. Loved the final scene though.

*The Firm* was suberb as a *proper* hoolie film of that period ...
Oldman was 100% Becksy........an the exchange he has with the brother when visiting Yussef after the fight is Classic ....

football factory is quite ok but the Dyer was miscast imho,

Green st is absolutely RUBBISH , If you like a good violent bloke film see
*Rise of the Foot Soldier* Excellent scary bloke film .. be warned it is very true too life .

Jim McDonald, not his son :p I understand what you mean but it didn't bother me at all that I knew them from soaps first and don't think it suffers from it.

 I completely forgot about ID. Thats a fantastic film.
I enjoyed Football Factory more than Green Street (I'm a bit of a Danny Dyer fan so that maybe why)

Edit: Great name. My favourite games ever.

Green Street plays well as a comedy send up, as a serious film it doesn't do quite so well. The Football Factory isn't too bad, but the Firm is the only football hooligan film which has come close to being realistic.
