Well, my back pain is back and so is my hip. I had a nice little break with no pain, but it is back!!!!

So sorry to hear that. I too suffer from back pain. I've had some success lately with a corabination of stretching and acupuncture. What were you doing that made your pain go away? Why do you think it came back?

I had been continuing my stretching and taking it easy. I decided the house needed cleaned yesterday and so I did a lot of bending over and here I am again. My pain is lower back because of a Si joint issue. It affects my hips. Every time is acts up my hips are involved it use to be one hip, but it both now. I had read on here that some people have it so bad it has to be fused. Oh gosh, I could deal with that.

My right hip is out of joint and won't go back in, which exacerbates my low back pain.

I don't recommend taking it easy, though. I did that for several weeks and the pain didn't get better. FrienRAB of mine who also had suffered from back pain at various points told me to exercise. I started going to a gym. The first day, I was in such bad shape...I basically was crippled. I could barely walk. But I did it anyway. Don't push too far too fast, but consider starting a program that includes strengthening your core, aerobic exercise (start slow) and resistance training. The stronger your body gets, the more it will help you heal.

I've been on this program for 5 months now. I'm not crippled any more, but still have pain most days and my right leg is still mostly nurab from the initial injury. I have weakness in that leg, also. But I do a resistance training routine several days a week that includes core training, and I do some sort of cardio several days a week, also. I stretch each morning before I get out of bed, and oftentimes will find time to stretch during the day also.

And I see an acupuncturist once a week. The exercise has helped me to get stronger, but nothing helped the pain more than acupuncture. I've been able to go off pain meRAB because of it.

Dee,

So sorry that your back pain has returned. The problems with our spines is that once you hurt them I firmly believe that no matter how careful you are that you will have intermittent problems throughout your lifetime. This is why I agree that strengthening your core is so very important as well as keeping our weight off, etc. I actually find aquatherapy very pain relieving as well as chatting with others in similiar situations.

Take care and I will pray that you are feeling better sooon.

Well, the weight isn't so much a issue however, I did gain some and probably should try to get it off. I was pretty fit before all this. My poor outdoor cat got bit by something and got a abscess I had to cage him up to treat him ,so I ran up and down 14 steps for a few days total of 20 times, up and down so 28 x 20 and then up and down the upper level same amount of stairs just maybe not as much. These stairs work me out. I usually don't run up and down them like this. I am thinking that didn't help any. I have my own gym but motivation is tough. I have been stretching and it has helped. I go out and walk our land and that wears me out. I will try though to do more exercising since I believe you guys are very right about it.
