That post should be evidence enough that sf is a racist and a moron,
of course all racists are morons.

The tea party is no more racist than the Ds or Rs... the Ts will take
all the votes they can get too.

I've never seen where any election in the US records the
race/ethnicity of voters. However I don't think folks vote the way
they answer in interviews and polls, people are equally dishonest
across all spectrums... in the US for more than all other reasons
combined folks vote according to their pocketbooks.

Again with the mindless fiction that the only thing on PBS is left wing
propaganda all the time, just like the Doughbelly Pillsboy who only presents
one point of view, and does nothing else. That's about as ridiculous and
disingenuous a comparison as I've ever seen. But I do see a future for you
in writing copy for Faux News...

More drama, you seem to have missed my point which was "Present all
sides or present none". PBS resonates with you because of political

government to help them out.

If you know what you are talking about, how come you don't know the name
of the show? Nothing more frustrating than listening to an obviously
incorrect description of a show by somebody who doesn't even know the
name!

First you will have to remove the G from HGTV, they no longer have any
garden shows. Also the poster meant HDTV from the discussions. But I think
you knew that :)

At least PA is pretty decent. With the exception Philadelphia deciding
it doesn't need to comply and the few sheriffs who decide that they are
legislators and not law enforcement and invent all sorts of reasons why
they won't issue. We had one in our county who decided he didn't work
for the public and could also interpret laws so his initial answer was
to only accept applications a few hours per week to discourage folks and
not issue during the first visit so it could take months. The law says
if you pass instant check he has no choice. He eventually had to back
down and we fired him in the last election.

There are exceptions, repeaters being one. The other is small

gives us 3-4 channels. I may tap in, one day. Since I love movies,
I'm happy with Netflix and miss absolutely nothing on TV, including
PBS. Now if they'd bring back The Great Chefs.....

We have the Canadian Broadcasting System (CBC) here. While the
television part of it is commercially funded, the radio portion is
commercial free. Needless to say it has a lot of detractors, people on
the left say that it toes the government line too much, and people on
the right say it is totally leftist. I tend to find it extremely
informative and well balanced. A lot of people who I consider to be
intelligent and well informed tend to listen to it and I often here them
talking about things after introducing it by saying ``I heard something
really interesting on CBC the other day...``

I live close enough to the US border that I get to hear a lot of NPR
which is in the same league as the CBC. When I was working I spent a
lot of time driving around the Niagara peninsula. When I was on the
north side of it I listened to CBC but as I went further south and it
started getting static I would switch to NPR. Unfortunately at home i am
on the far end of the fringe for NPR out of Buffalo and it has to much
static to enjoy.

Having spent so much time listening to the great programming on CBC and
NPR, it is really hard for me to listen to commercial radio stations. I
can't stand the idiocy of most of the talk radio, and I find the noise
and repetition of commercials hard to take.

Nook was originally sold by Barnes & Noble, but is now available other
places. My wife loves her when it works. In the past 13 months, she has had
five of them. Fortunately, the last problem was just two weeks before the
end of warranty. I just bought her a Kobo as a backup. Kobo is sold by
Borders.

I don't think there is much difference except for in this particular area, I
believe there was some big stink about sattelite not carrying some of the
basic channels. I have a dislike for sattelite and would never get it. We
had it at a couple of places where I worked. And it seemed that most of the
time when it rained, we had problems with it. Being in the Seattle area, we
get a lot of rain.

Oh, I don't have a problem with response time. It's just interesting
to see what excuse they'll come up with that doesn't involved good old

changed, they did say it was clawed up. Could have been due to birds
(we have huge ravens, which I never see perched on telephone lines, or
rats. We don't have enough squirrels around here for it to have been
due them.

The price has dropped enough that it's getting very tempting.

I didn't know that. Will the system recognize you it if/when you buy
a new model? The new one is so light and slim, it's enticing me.

I noticed that new e-book prices weren't a bargain on Amazon, have you
checked out the library? Do they lend for Kindle?
