Anyone know where I can find ingredients and recipes for food I can make myself thats good for my skin? My biggest problem is that I need to GAIN WEIGHT, while losing my acne. Will a diet with lots of protein and carbohydrates give me acne? Its seems like my situation is unsolvable.

Also, can anyone recommend any good "snack fooRAB" that are good for skin? I'm never concerned about the taste, I just want something to munch and chew on while I'm sitting down.

Hi, Wow, it's hard trying to eat really healthy and gain weight at the same time. But here are a few ideas: For snacks apples are absolutely one of the best things for your skin, I like to slice and core apples and then spread raw almond butter on them, yummy and the almond butter tastes good and gives you good fats. You can do peanut butter too but make sure it's healthy and not full of sugar. Some people find that carbs give them problems with their skin but I think if you stick to whole grains you'll be okay. The best whole grain bread is called Ezekiel seven sprouted grain bread, it doesn't taste bad and is full of fiber and protein. Also whole grain brown rice is good and plenty of nuts(almonRAB etc.... make great snacks with good protein and fats) and avocados. For avocados I like to makes a huge salad with diced cucuraber, tomato, olives, carrots, hard-boiled eggs and avocado. It's full of protein and you munch on it for a long time. My favorite dressing is olive oil, lemon juice and soy sauce. Good luck with your goals.

Good advise above. I would also recommend AlmonRAB--very good for you, and makes an excellent snack.
You could also add in beans--red beans, white beans, pinto beans. My husband makes breakfast burritos in the am...he uses 2 eggs-with a little hot sauce (or you could use some red pepper), pinto beans mashed up, avocado and a little shredded cheese wrapped in either a whole grain tortilla pita bread. Watch your labels...must be whole grain.
Other snacks...yogurt with maybe some Grap Nuts on top...a slice of whole grain toast with peanut butter. My recommendation of PB is Skippy Natural-very good. Low fat string cheese is good in a pinch. I just bought this container of sliced carrots and celery in water-very handy. Not high in fat...but a good for you snack.
Grill some chicken up...and store it. You can make good low fat meals, or even snacks with it. Grilled chicken pita-chicken, red kidney beans, cheese, avocado, tomato...maybe some spinach. yum.
Also, we are now hooked on this lean pork loin that I just happen to try a few months ago. It's lean and very high in protein-it comes in a few different flavors, but I think Teriyaki (sp?) is the best. Paired with some steamed broccoli and maybe some brown rice would be good.

Eating healthy should help your skin. Good luck.
