Food for Thought. Listen to my Ranting!?

Is it logical for everyone to be born full of sin, and need to spend all of their life repenting, and redeeming themselves in order to go to "Heaven"?

Religion has caused alot of problems in our world, because people fight over who is right. Christianity is a major religion because in the early days, they massacred all the non- believers, because they were "right" and the other were "wrong".

Being gay is a sin, according to the Bible. But so is boasting, complaining, CONDEMNING, not fearing your parents (Lev 19:3), not fearing God (1 Tim 5:20; Mt 10:28; Ro 3:18). As well as wearing two different materials of clothes such as wool and cotton, and planting two different plants next to each other as well.

Christians pick out the sins they want to elaborate on, such as being gay, just so that they can discriminate all the gay people, and have a "justified" meaning for attacking them.

I also observed people who would, lie, cheat, steal, or commit sins, and they didn't care. As long as they made it to Chuch on Sundays, they were "safe". That's a bit crooked, don't you think?

Bible is just a way to scare peope into being good, I don't need the bible to know not to kill, and ect. I don't see why anybody else should either. Christians ought to read their book again and follow the rules.

That's my Food for Thought for today. Opinions? And yes...I already know that I'm going to hell. You don't need to tell me 6 times. I don't really care though. Peace.

I think you need to do a little more delving into history. There have been Christian conflicts, to be sure, but by and large to follow Christian history is to follow the advancement (and preservation) of enlightened civilization on this planet.

Christianity was a thoroughly persecuted people at the outset. Romans fed them to lions, for crying out loud. Nero burned them on crosses to light his dinner parties.

Now you seem to think that Christianity spread via the sword. This is not the case. It is a religion of conversion, and for the most part it spread peacefully. Islam was the religion who spread (and spreads) militantly, so it's intellectually dishonest to lump Christianity and Islam under "Religions" and say that "they" have caused problems. If you are talking about the crusades, that wasn't to spread the message of God, it was largely to plunder and conquer.

It sounds also as if you are fairly unfamiliar with the breadth and scope of Christian thought. If you really want to find out about it, you should approach it with your mind inclined to actually learning what it has to say, rather than going in with a caustic attitude. You then might be able to present a more cogent argument regarding Christianity.

Being gay is not a sin! If someone is born gay, how can they be held accountable for it?

Now, I am not suggesting that everyone who is gay was born that way, and had no choice. I believe some people choose to be gay...not really in the traditional sense of it being a selection, but it being a psychological need, perhaps.

Some people, IMO, are born gay.

What I disapprove of is living a life that celebrates sin. And that goes for straight or gay people. I make no distinctions.

I love and support gays. Guess what- I am a sinner, too, just like everyone else (gay and straight). I am no better than anyone else. The only reason I am saved is because of God's mercy. It has nothing to do with my own actions, because I am unworthy.

hey, today's society is messed up as it is, don't make it worse by sparking even more arguments

but what the hey, some just might just solve global crises on society

oh and i agree

Your right,.**sigh** but you know,..if you read between the lines, all God requires of us is "obedience"....there is no hell,...we were not made for heaven...and God's original purpose was told to us in the garden of Eden.

God created us because he wanted to.....He gave our first parents everything they could possibly want or desire. They were perfect in every way, shape and form. But did they appreciate the gift of life that their heavenly father gave them?

When God withheld one simple tree from every tree in existence and told them " that it was his, do not touch". Would God not expect his creation to be obedient to him after all he had done for them and gave them? Of course,..he wanted them to exercise their free will, and choose for themselves, to obey him out of love.

But that is not what happened.

My question is: Does God, as the grand Creator, have the right to choose who he wants to live on the earth? If so, would he not readily choose humans who have chosen to be obedient to him through love and gratitude for their existence?
