Foo Fighters

um i just want to inform the general music banter public -- dave grohl is mine. like... i've had crushes come and go. but i've probably been in love with dave grohl since i was in 3rd grade. okay maybe that's an a bit much, but you get the idea.

I do like a couple of Foo Fighters songs such as: My Hero, Everlong, In Your Honour, All My Life but generally I think they are dull as ditchwater.

Well, I don't really care for their new stuff because it HAS gotten repetitive. But I really liked their album The Colour And The Shape. Everlong is one song I really love and I don't mind that it gets played on the radio a lot.

Most stuff since then has been hit or miss with me however, Learn to Fly is certainly one song I'd never care to listen to ever again, which sadly won't stop radio stations from playing it until the f*cking end of time. And I actually do agree that the best post Nirvana thing Grohl has been involved in would be QOTSA.

I'm glad you at least recognise that Grohl is talented, and yes I would like to see him put that talent to more good use.

I should really get back to my original point. I don't think Dave Grohl keeps proving who the most talented meraber of Nirvana was because his songwriting leaves so much to be desired compared to Kurt's. Even RezZ a fan has admitted they don't make inventive music and while Nirvana didn't either at least they were doing something different from what was making money at the time and Kurt Cobain really didn't care so much about pleasing the masses with Nirvana as Grohl does with the Foo Fighters. I mean he could've easily made Nevermind part 2 but instead he delivered In Utero and even fought his record company (though sadly lost) for the mixing to stay the way Albini had had it which probably wouldn't have pleased all the hair metal fans gone grunge.

I also think In Utero is a far superior album to anything Grohl's written and I'm mad hungry right now so if someone wants me to expand on this too I will.

Their greatest hits is a great album. Except for a few songs they put on that were previously unreleased (I hate it when banRAB do that.)

But I can't listen to one of their studio albums start to finish, but I love their hits.

- Everlong, My Hero, Monkey Wrench, Times Like These etc.

They have some good moments, The colour and the shape being one and the latest album is pretty good, but IMO all pretty sub standard from someone as talented as Dave Grohl. If you listen to interviews his musical taste is pretty good so it seems to me like he is making albums for either mass acceptance or fame....either to me is a complete sell out

Decent pop-rock I guess. Not something I'd avidly go for, but certainly not something I have any complaints about, and definitely better than a lot of stuff on the radio nowadays.

Oh yeah, I know it well! Darn good track, and very fitting as a closer for an album... it rivals My Way Home from the Color and The Shape as my favorite FF album closer!
