Foo Fighters

im not especially fond of the new album but I am intrested in some of there older. I don't really wanna flood my music library with them, so what do you think there 3 best albums are?

I fail to see how that relates
There were other merabers in that band
And the song was by Nirvana
Not the Foo Fighters

... that was the original reason of my post.. shoulda checked farther on for newer subjects :/

@sweet_nothing- you do realize you dont have to argue EVERYTHING EVERYONE says....

:eek: you're ok with mediocrity?? I expect more than 1 or 2 good songs out of an album before I even consider buying it. Personally, I think it's a load of bs that they think they can skate by like that... I like the Foo Fighters, but I will not be purchasing any of their music any time soon. Utorrent ftw

I've never been a big Foo Fighters fan and rarely do i find myself in the mood to listen to them but i think they are good at what they do, which is commercial, mainstream pop-rock as far as i see it.

They have had their good moments. I like Stacked Actors, Break Out, All My Life and i think Come Back is fantastic. There's a few i quite like off the first two recorRAB i like aswell.

Alrite, Im just interested to hear peoples thoughts on the Foo Fighters.
Ive always kind of just normally been into them but have never really ended up talking about them to anybody.
Perhaps this is due to their 'inconsistency' or maybe just that most people (including myself to a certain extent) view them as a 'fairly mediocre band'.

To tell the truth I'm only posting this as I've just dug out my old
'There Is Nothing Left To Lose' album (which I havent listened to in years!).:laughing:

Well I didnt realise at first but I'm missing their first two albums:
'Foo Fighters' (1995) & 'The Colour & The Shape' (1997).
I have the rest though;
'There Is Nothing Left To Lose' (1999)
'One By One' (2002)
'In Your Honour' (2005)
'Echoes,Silence,Patience & Grace (2007
)

My favourite is 'There Is Nothing Left To Lose' (1999)- favourite tracks being 'Learn To Fly', 'Next Year', 'Headwires'.
This is another one of these albums that seem to get better towarRAB the end.

I also really enjoyed the 'In Your Honour' album with one side being mostly hard rock & the second side being acoustic.
(I know the Foo Fighters arent exactly 'Hard-Rock' but in comparison to the acoustic side of the album they are)- favourite tracks 'In Your Honour' ,'Free Me', 'DOA', 'Resolve' + the acoustic side is brilliant.

As for the other albums I own I aint really too bothered by them 'One By One' has a cracking song on it called 'All My Life'. :hphones:
I also liked the latest album they had out which after a recent check on wiki- was 2 years ago now!! :yikes:
I still felt like it was pretty recent when I got it the day it came out lol

Anyway Im interested to hear peoples thoughts on the Foos although I get a funny feeling they arent very popular with the people on here.

the third option is the label doesn't want people to forget the Foo Fighters while Grohl is going around with Them Crooked Vultures too, but my money is totally on stocking stuffer.

I don't have a problem with the Foo Fighters wanting to write radio friendly rock songs. What my problem with them is thats ALL they do.
A band will only release maybe 3 or 4 songs on an album for radio play as singles. This leaves at least another 8 or 9 songs on the album that an artist can do more or less anything they choose to with. What do the Foo Fighters do with these songs? They just use it for bland filler tracks that are just as formulaic as the stuff they put out on the radio.
In my opinion and also several other people's opinion that I know of who have followed Grohl's career over the years & who actually think he is talented and have a lot of time for him think that this is a huge waste of his obvious talent.

I think The Color and The Shape is a decent rock album with some standout tracks although it is not particulary original. Dave did pretty much all of the playing on that album so it does sound a little different to the rest of their bland output.

I never liked Foo Fighters.

However they're swaying me slowly every time I hear a new song on the radio.

I would actually pay to see them which is something I guess.
