the larger door you found is the one your looking for,you may have to remove the box to repair it ,but hopefully not,that door opens up to the heater core and is probably whats blocking the heat off,the air suppose to blow off the heater core and through the vents and if that door doesn't open it cant do that,i know those are a pain to get to and repair,see if that one is vacuum operated or electrical,if so the actuator may be bad that opens the door on it,and that will be why your not getting any heat,its been a while since i have seen one of those go bad,but it happens,you should be able to get the box down enough to get to that part and repair it,the air has to blow the heat off the heater core or you don't get no heat at all,and that may be the problem you have found on it,the one door you spoke of is the one that divides the heat from the cold,you can get that one started by hooking a few wires up enough to see if that's the problem with it,it may be the only way to find exactly which on isn't working on it,good luck.EDIT i,ll add this also, the last one i did was a real pain to get to work right again,but unless the heat can get from the heater core and circulate through the heater box and then be distributed out through what ever setting you choose on the dial it wont work right.

I previously asked a question about the 2000 Dodge Caravan which had lukewarm heat. All the radiator hoses are hot including the heater hoses and the blower blows cold to lukewarm air. We removed the dash to check the blend door. We located the vents going to defrost, face & floor and switched the controls & the doors did open and close to the vents. I did notice when switching to anything besides defrost mode, there is alot of noise for at least 30 seconds. IT almost sounds like something is obstructing a door that is not visible to me. When the door was open we could see down below was a larger door that opened and closed when we switched from cold to hot on the control unit. Is this door we are seeing the main blend door. I located the blower and evaporator behind the glove box on the passenger side but I cannot see a door there. The heater core is still not visible. My question is: Where does the air go after it leaves the blower, could the pathway to the heater core be blocked and where to I check next. Removing the dash components was a several hour job, so I would like to get this solved before we put it back together because when the instrument panel is disconnected, the van will not start to check if the van is heating. Please give me any help possible because I live in Wisconsin and it already feels like winter. Thanks!
