Folding / Sliding Phones

Hi

My Samsung E700 has just died on because the ribbon cable which connects the flap to the fone cracked. Is it safe to get another folding phone or maybe even a sliding phone or do all phones of this type suffer from this problem? If so, which brands are recommendable?

budget is not an issue as i will be getting it for free. i first want to decide whether i should risk getting a flip / sliding fone. did any of u ever own a sliding or flip fone which lasted 2 yrs or longer? if so, which brand was it?
 
hahaha.. you will be pressed to find anyone on this forum that has kept a phone longer than 1 year! Kidding.

I had a friend who had a StarTac for what seemed like a millenia and his was fine. I think its an issue that is more based on materials and construction (you get what you pay for) than design. So go ahead and get another flip, just know you are getting what you pay for.
