flv file, swf file and flash player...what is the difference?

I want to know the difference between these files flv, swf and flash files and you can recommend the best player for each!

flv is flash video
swf is shockwave flash
swf should work perfectly in your web browser with flash installed and flv will play with vlc media player

Flv IS the flash player video. Swf is another web based video, and the flash video player is web browser plugin that allows you to view the videos online. Offline viewing on the pc can be done through the vlc media player. Which can be downloaded from here:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

this is perhaps the best media player available, that plays all possible video files.
