Flu symptons for 2 months!

Hi all

I am a 27 year old male living and working in London. For the past few months I seem to have been suffering from flu like symptons such as runny nose, coughing quite a bit, short of breath etc.

Everyday I seem to go through a box of tissues continously blowing my nose and some nights I am awaken early cos I am short of breath or coughing like crazy

I dont smoke and am not overweight. I wouldnt say my diet is great, as I do have a few take-aways most weeks but overall I am generally quite fit. I dont drink alcohol during the week but do have a few beers most weekend, though I am well within recommended weekly limits

I do suffer from hayfever during summer months so I take medication during this period, which does help. But I dont want to be taking these hayfever tablets as surely this cannot be hayfever.

I am not on any medication and there is no history within the family of any common illnesses

I was going to book some time to go and see my GP but wasnt really sure if this could be anything serious?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks

My guess is that you are suffering from allergies to whatever is out in the air. YOu may have developed an allergies to the local grasses, pollens and whatever is out in the air. The fact that taking the meds for hayfever helps is a good indication that you have joined the ranks of hayfever suffers.

My suggestion would be to get into you GP and get a script for a good antihistamine that will take care of this and see if that isn't the proglem. Or see if he doesn't have so other solution.

Good luck,
