Flowers in the Attic

I have all the books, though I've only read the first.

The movie was OK but when compared to the book it's pretty poor - a lot of the best stuff was omitted, the ending was butchered and some of the acting (the younger kiRAB) is appaling. Louise Fletcher is great though, nobody plays an evil bitch like she does. :D

I remember seeing this movie as a kid,it was quite enjoyable,i saw it again recently and still thought it pretty good, ive never read the books but have some of the articles on wiki about each book,it wasnt very clear on the fate of the grandmother, did she perish in the fire?also did the oldest daughter die in the attic of the replacement house, kinnda sad if she did.

I first saw the film when i was about 15 and loved it, then a few years ago i read the book. I have seen the film again since reading the book and realised the book is a lot better. Havnt read the other book in the series thouhg, are they worth reading?

I read all the books and haven't seen the film and have no desire to. For me, a film simply cannot capture everything that a book can and usually if I read the books first, I don't like the film. On the flip side, if I see the film first and then read the book, I can enjoy both. Maybe I'm just weird.

Must read this book. I remember when the film came out, comments that it did not do the book justice, though I watched it anyway. Suppose a bit like Jilly coopers 'Riders' when made for the screen, the book so much more gripping.

i read most of the books through my teens, they were so traumatic! i can barely remember the film but i dont think it was particularly a good one
