Floor Jacks

I am looking at buying a high quality floor jack for my scoot (I had a Sears jack, which I really never trusted). I have narrowed my choices to the J & S Big Wheel Lift and the Pitbull Lift.

The Pitbull is a little more expensive but I like that it goes up to 25 inches (compared to 17 for the J & S). What I do not like is that it also takes a lot more floor space.

Any thoughts or advise? Thanks.
 
Whatever you decide....tie it down. The Bike I mean to the jack.

If your jack dont come with tie down eyelets...look for another jack.

Then strap her down anytime you lift her up.
 
I have a J & S , it works great they are easy to deal with and stand behind their jacks, you do not need tie downs with it, I've rolled it all over the garage on the lift without tie downs, I do not know why you would use the extra height , I have done complete rebuilds on this lift and rarely raise it over the 1st or 2nd lock on it
 
I also went with the J&S. My floor is made of paving bricks (car port) not as smooth as a garage floor. But have moved the bike all around absolutely never experienced anything close to a tip. Its your money and decision to live with. Good luck.
 
I've used my Pitbull for about 10 years now and have never regretted buying it. It's a good solid piece of equipment. With my ailing back, I for one, really appreciate the 25" height feature. It's easy to move around, can lube most all the moving parts and the ability to raise my bike so high were the reasons I felt made it worth the money. Not saying there aren't other good, capable and cheaper jacks out there but I've never regretted buying my Pitbull.
 
I pondered the same question & elected for J&S, but can't go wrong w/either (both good quality). Weigh pros/cons of both & decide which works best for your situation.
 
J&S or Pitbull, really boils down to preference. I have the J&S with the optional handle and drain pan works great. When I was researching this the pit bull was basically a J&S with grease zirks on the wheels and pivots.
 
J&S here too. It puts the bike up as high as I need it and it's great to be able to roll the bike all around the garage. It's very steady and I haven't seen a need for tie downs yet.
