Floats stuck on Boulevard S50?

What is the easiest way to "unstick" the floats? When I try to start it gas comes out the overflow, so I think that they are stuck. I used to have bikes where you could just unclip a sediment cup and move the float by hand. How do you do it on an s50 with out taking the carbs out (or apart)?...:cool:
 
Welcome aboard. I had the exact same problem 3 weeks ago. I drained the carbs last fall which I will never do again. I drained the tank (which is very easy to do) and put in a fresh gallon of gas with a little overdose of Seafoam. I let it sit for a day and then hopped on the bike and started bouncing up and down after starting it a few times and it worked! The floats unstuck and it runs great. The only other option is to have the carbs cleaned by a pro. Good luck!

I forgot to mention that when you drain your tank, drain the reserve too. Also tapping the carbs is the right way to go but it didn't work for me. I probably was afraid to tap too hard.
 
Gas is shooting out of the front carb overflow. It feels like the back cylinder is trying to run (feels warm) but the front cyl pipe is cold, and gas is coming out of the exhaust on that cylinder, like is is "stuck on" . I took off the gas tank. choked it and it started on both cylinders for about 10 to 12 seconds after the front one could not get more gas to get flooded (but did not stay cause not enough gas). I put the tank back on and am going to try again after the battery charges some. ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS? What part of the front carb housed the floats? I'm going to take the gas tank off again and try tapping it again!@#$%^&*() JUST WANT TO RIDE!!!!!
 
Used about 9 or 10 OZ of seafoam, got it started with gas turned off. Kept turning gas on and off until the gas quit coming out of the overflow. GOING TO GO RIDE!
 
Now that the bike is running - gas STILL comes out the overflow - until i turn off the valve at the tank. It will then run a while without coming out from the overflow, until I turn the gas back to the on position, then it starts shooting out the overflow again!

Any ideas how to make this stop?
