floating stool

stool starting floating 10 days ago. 81, slim, low cholesterol. Even though I am slim and low cholesterol, I can eat about anything, including food with fats, cakes, ice cream, eggs, bacon, daily etc., which I do. Even though I am slender can I still be eating too much food with fat that it would affect my stools, making them float?

On another board an M.D. gastroenterologist answered a question about floating stool by saying that it was absolutely no indication of any illness or condition but just a function of various factors (amount of fiber, air, etc.) in the digestive track.

When my niece was a nursing student, she loved sharing some of her new found knowledge with me. One of the "fun facts" that I have always remembered...floating stools=fiber, sinkers=not enough fiber in the diet.
