Flippity!

It's a great relief that everyone is alright. :hug2:

My first response to the picture is " Holy Fuck! WTF happened?" I don't have to tell you, but it sucks that happened; I hope everything goes smoother for everyone from here on out.

Thanks guys!

LOL nah, it was more of

Darky -blah blah

me-hey look out

Darky -OH SHIT

screetch, screetch, screetch, bump bump crash.

EDIT: it's only "blah blah" because I can't remember wtf they were talking about.

Well... you can take something away from this (more than just your life) you now know how easy it is to flip your car. I imagine this will make you more aware of what your maneuvers will lead to.

I'm glad everyone is okay... must have been some curb to flip it... sedans aren't that easy to flip.

What were you guys watching out for?

Her car was veering towards the median curb, when I said "Watch out" she jerked the steering wheel to the right, and at that point lost control, fishtailed to the left, then right again, then we hit the median and flipped over (the median had a deep ditch I guess)

well... maybe you can take her out to a parking lot and teach her. So that way she knows how to steer out of a fishtail, blowout etc.

Who knew you couldn't drive? ;)

The exact same thing happened to my friends a few months ago, chick driving, only they must have been going much faster, because when she over-corrected they flipped like 5 times. Neither of the people in the back seat were wearing their seatbelts. One of which was my friend Chris, who was killed from a broken neck because he wasn't wearing his seatbelt. Your kid was really lucky Spunny. I'm glad you're all ok.

Sucks about the car & bills tho. I talked to a cop about it. In Florida, if you are in any kind of accident (even with yourself) and cops and/or paramedics come, they are required by law to write you a ticket. Whether it's "careless driving" or "wreckless driving" is up to the officer writing the ticket.

I hear that the bus is relatively inexpensive and safer too!

That only works if you don't live 25 miles from the nearest bus stop. I used to use Public Transportation when I lived in Tacoma, but it was a 2 minute walk to the bus stop, and bus passes were really inexpensive. It was rather time consuming though.

Also, depending on the verbage of the "reckless driving" definition in your state, you may be able to get out of the ticket. If they assume you're being intentionally negligent in your driving, they would have to prove it with witness statements or if an officer witnessed it himself. Then again, getting a judge to see it your way when he's paid by the state is another story. In Oklahoma, they have a moving violation called "operating a motor vehicle in a manner deemed unsafe for road conditions". That assumes you weren't doing anything intentionally negligent, just enough that you lose control. Makes the ticket harder to shake that way.

Damn that looked scary! I'm glad to know you're all ok!

The wreckless driving thing does sound like bullshit. Here you have to have witnesses or proof you were doing more than 20 mph over the speed limit for that. I hope they can get rid of that.

At any rate... are either of you religious? If I weren't I would be now.
