Flightplan

I watched this film tonight and I have to admit ; it was one of the best films I have ever seen.

The acting was fantastic and the plot was carefully written and felt cared about.

Jodie Foster shone as Kyle Pratt a desperate mother trying to find her child while being made to think that she was mad.

Peter Sarsgaard was also fantastic as Carson and Sean Bean was just as good as the Captain.

What are everyone else's views on this brilliant film?

:)

Haven't seen it since I saw it at the flicks, and thre is a reason for that. It's probably one of the worst films I've ever seen.

You're right, the acting was quite good and the premise was quite interesting. But as the plot went on, it went to intriguing, to farsical, to downright stupid.

One of the best films ever? have you seen any other films? :p

It's nothing special but I enjoyed it, it's a remake of Hitchcock's The Lady Vanishes.

It was a good movie, hardly the best of all time though - Jodie Foster pretty much single-handedly carried this mediocre plot along.

If it had starred any other female lead, it would have been awful.

You're right. One of the daftest films I think I've ever seen.
If you have to have a crazy way out there plot to highlight how a parent never gives up on their child "The Forgotten" does it much better than this.

Craig was spot on. Flightplan starts as a clever psychological thriller - was the kid ever on the plane and Jodie's just a whack job. Or was something more mysterious going on. But the way it ended was unbelievable and took away a lot from the film.

Panic Room was far superior as a thriller. It had brilliant set pieces like when the baddies first ended the house and when they ended up in the panic room with the daughter and Jodie ended up outside it.

I liked the beginning and the premiere of is she mad or isn't she, but I thought the resolution was rubbish and a real let down.

It could have been one of the best thrillers in years, but I feel like the resolution was nonsense and such an uninspired and lazy cop out.

I thought it was fairly stupid, you just had to believe too much for it to work, so an air martial can just take a child without anyone on the plane seeing, I don't think so. I think the lead woman was a terrible actress.

And when the landed in New Foundland, the FBI were there? yeah right, cos y'know they have jurisdiction in Canada

It was a bad premise, and it was acted and executed poorly too. Two hours I'll never get back.

We're talking about the movie legend that is Jodie Foster here?? She was outperforming most actresses when she was a kid! How old are you?!

Exactly what I was thinking, I'm only 20 - but even I know she's been legendary in movies like contact, the silence of the lambs etc.

Bad actress in this movie? Maybe, but probably not.

Bad actress overall? Not a chance, you clearly haven't seen her in anything else, which to say the least - is surprising.

I thought it was an average, but enjoyable thriller. I preferred it to Panic Room and I agree the best thing about it is Jodie Foster and her (as usual) great performance. It starts off well but it's not really anything special, let down by quite a bad ending.
