saw the original on bbc 2 the other day was very good wonder how the remake is going to measure up often remakes dont

The original is one of my favourite films (inexplicably). I've seen the trailer for the new one and apart from the introduction of the obligatory attractive female character it looks like a fairly straight remake. Looks like they've even resisted the temptation to replace the "nasty German" with a nasty Englishman.

It must have been an age since it was last on TV. A true classic.

I just read the review on IMDB and it doesnt sound good.

One to avoid.

It's not as good as the original movie, but it's not bad. Enjoyable and could have been a lot worse.

I never saw the original but I enjoyed this version. I'm a Giovanni Ribisi fan.
