Flight home for spring break cancelled.

I live in Maine and go to school in Arizona. I mostly hate Arizona, and was looking forward to going home to see friends who I haven't seen in a while. I was supposed to be going home tonight, but there is some huge storm in the northeast coast. So JetBlue canceled all flights to the east coast, and many other airlines did similar things. They said I can rebook TUESDAY. TUESDAY? WTF? I may as well not go at all if I have to wait until then. Fuck the weather and fuck JetBlue. Overall, fairly minor compared to some other people's problems, but this pisses me right the fuck off, and dumping my feelings here in the hopes that others will somehow vicariously experience my rage and misery somehow makes me feel better.

Maine is home for me. It has the ocean, and while it is complete shit in the winter, it is actually very nice in the summer. It also has my friends. Besides, the place where I live in AZ (Prescott) is pretty shitty. It's actually the fastest growing retirement community in the states, if that tells you anything. And it's really dry.

Fortunately I'm not spending the night in the airport (although I may have to in the near future). I'm just pissed because I'm supposed to be at home.

i live in mass we have about a foot and half right now so in maine you probably have 3 feet so when you do get home have fun shoveling

That sucks, I don't know why you wouldn't like Arizona though, it is the ultimate outdoor place. I understand how you want to visit back home again though, perhaps you can just go down there another week?

I totally understand. I don't like inland states....no offense to them but....I just gotta have the ocean nearby.

Sorry to hear about your situation. A buddy of mine had to spend Christmas alone at an airport in a city where he didn't know anyone...he was making a connecting flight and they shut the planes down because of the weather. He didn't even know anyone in that state either, I think.

Wow, I'm really sorry. I'm going to Paris, France tomorrow and I'm hoping that I dont get stranded in D.C. or something...Its my first time out of the US, let alone the fourstates (KS, MO, AR, OK). I would shit myself...

Edit: I know how it feels being stranded without your friends...and I wish that I could help.

Vancouver Airport
Toronto Airport
Edmonton Airport
Atlanta Airport.

It sucks trying to sleep but you can't. I ended up wandering around the airport for 12+ hours. Good times.

Being stuck where you don't want to be because of public type transportation is always a drag. And it's worse because there's not much you can do to fix it - it's not like you can walk to Maine from Arizona in the time left for Spring break. So you have my empathy on the situation, and hopes that you get a flight home sometime soon.

Doesn't make the situation any better, but it got me to thinking about what we take for granted - planes, trains and automobiles (thank you John Candy). Imagine being stranded like the Donner party, or that flight that crashed in the Andes and the survivors had to try and hike back to civilization. Crikey, I get worried if the car overheats when we're driving through the desert.
