flat like a palace - Definition?

Hi there. Sorry if this question seems silly but i own a small studio flat in Glasgow and a friend who was visiting me said that it was like a palace. What did she mean by this?Did she mean that it looked lovely?Is it a compliment? I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thank you in advance everyone.
 
i'd be chuufed if somone called my pad a palace...
usually it means lookin' nice clean and tidy ... like a palace....
its a compliment....
