Hi, I have been seeing flashing lights in my eyes for a few years. These are not after glow, they are not floaters, and they are not after color. I see them 4-5 times a day. They are all different colors and patterns and lasts for several minutes. They are accompanied by a yellow haze in my peripheral vision that goes into the middle of my vision then disappears and starts again. This haze phenomenon lasts about ten minutes. They are not followed by a headache and the middle of my vision is fine. Here is the weird part: they are triggered whenever I think about them and are also triggered at random times.

I have Kleinfelters 47xxy syndrome and ADHD. The only medications I am currently on are Singular and Advair. I am 14 years of age.

I have already went to a neurologist for this. He said that it might be a rare migraine variant and ordered an MRI. I cannot get the MRI until I get my braces off though.

Any doctors out there have a diagnosis or a guess?
By the way, I have also been to an eye doctor, so I know it is not a detached retina.
Okay, let me make this a little clearer. I have never had a migraine headache in my life, and I do not get blind spots while it is going on. And what I mean by they are triggered by thinking about it, is that they are triggered by me saying the words "flashing' or "lights" in my head, or even acknowledging that they exist.

The only way to stop them is to ignore them (which, now that I think about it, is another symptom I should probably mention). And if you have ever tried to not think about something, you know how hard to do that is.

By the way, I am seeing them as I am typing this. And, also, though your good intentions are noted and I thank you for them, please do not post unless you have some experience with this (ex. ophthalmologist, neurologist).
