Flashing Katana DLX (SCP-8500)

I have a Katana DLX (the SCP-8500) I would like to flash over to Cricket.

The guys at the store I went to want $35 to do this, and I would like to know what functionality I will have with my phone in terms of:

Calls
Text messaging
Web browsing
MMS

And anything else I haven't thought of here. Thanks.
 
Okay so even though my Katana is internet capable and uses the NetFront access thingie/webbrowser, I will not be able to do internet stuff on it?
 
Nope, if you flash it to cricket all it will be capable of is talk and text.

This is due to the way sprint makes their phone accesses the internet and MMS, it's just not compatible with Cricket.
 
Hmm. I guess now the question is whether or not $35 is worth it just for those two features. I have a crappy cheapo Samsung right now (it doesn't even have "lol" in T9 and there is no way to add it) but I like the internet features.

Bleh.
 
What's the model of the samsung?

It'd be cheaper to just buy the cable (like $10 on ebay) get the programs and flash it yourself. But if you like your phone and don't know how to flash phones then $35 isn't all that bad.
